About Me

Welcome to my corner of the web! Born and raised amidst the vibrant energy of Cape Town, South Africa, I found my calling in the intersection of sports, health, and human movement. A graduate of the esteemed University of Cape Town, where I immersed myself in the dynamic field of Human Movement Science.

My journey into Human Movement Science wasn't just a career choice; it was a passion that ran deep within me. I've always been fascinated by the incredible resilience of the human body and its capacity for healing, especially in the context of athletic performance. This fascination led me to pursue a comprehensive understanding of biomechanics, exercise physiology, and rehabilitation techniques. Following on from my degree at the University of Cape Town, I enrolled a Msc in Strength and Conditioning at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, Pioneers in strength and conditioning which I am currently completing.

Having played a wide variety of sports growing up, I turned my focus on to rugby during my later school years and post school. Having had my fair share of injuries during my playing days, I developed a passion for the human body and rehabilitation. At the University of Cape Town, I honed my skills under the guidance of leading experts in the field, gaining invaluable knowledge and hands-on experience. Following on from my studies I spent a year working in Holland within rugby, where I interned as a strength and conditioning coach for the under 20 and 18 Dutch rugby teams. Looking for something longer term I landed a job in an independent boarding school in the UK as a strength and conditioning coach. From there, my journey took me into the realm of sports rehabilitation, where I've had the privilege of working with athletes of all levels, from weekend warriors to elite professionals. I have helped a wide variety of people return to the playing field. Alongside this I have improved many people’s wellbeing through strength exercises, minimizing those aches and pains people develop through a lack of strength exercise.

What drives me is the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people's lives, helping them overcome injuries, optimize performance, and reclaim their passion for sports and fitness. Whether it's through personalized exercise programs or cutting-edge rehabilitation strategies, my goal is to empower individuals to move better, feel better, and live better.

I can offer both at home services as well as training at my local gym in Chichester, Strength Through Movement. With a fully equipped gym on wheels (my van) exercising in the comfort of your own space can be achieved right here through the body mechanic.

During my time in Holland, I fully rehabilitated a female athletes left ankle. When she arrived under my guidance her ankle break was fully healed but she only had the confidence to walk on the ankle and nothing else. As her main goal was to return to the playing field, we had a lot of work to do. Drawing upon my expertise in Human Movement and sports rehabilitation, I devised a personalized treatment plan focused on restoring strength, stability, and function to her injured ankle. Throughout the process, I provided her with unwavering support, encouragement, and guidance, helping her stay motivated and focused on her recovery goals.

I have more recently provided a client with strength-based exercises for patella tendonitis. This client was struggling to put weight on their knee and complete simple everyday tasks like climbing stairs. Following a progressive exercise plan based around knee strengthening exercises my client was able to complete everyday tasks pain free and has recently taken up 5 a side football once a week.
